Brief

Zinnov is a global management and strategy consulting firm that partners with Fortune 2000 companies, tech service providers, and private equity firms to drive growth, digital transformation, and operational excellence. Their work spans diverse industries, helping organizations build scalable, tech-led businesses equipped for the future.

We were tasked to design a digital platform that transforms Zinnov’s consulting expertise into a scalable, self-serve experience for GCC leaders.

Challenge

The goal was to centralize data into a presentable format, enabling faster decision-making and positioning Zinnov as a digital-first growth partner.

  1. Heavy Human Dependency
C-suite leaders relied on direct consultant interaction for benchmarking and insights.
  2. Low Platform Adoption
Despite valuable content, Platform 1.0 lacked daily utility and actionable summaries, leading to minimal usage.
  3. One-Size-Fits-All Structure
The platform didn’t cater to varied GCC maturity levels or user roles, resulting in irrelevant content surfacing for key decision-makers.
  4. Missed Peer Learning Opportunities

Users wanted to see how other GCCs were performing or responding to challenges, but there was no space for interaction.
  5. Disjointed Search and Navigation

Users couldn’t search intuitively and filters didn’t support nuanced needs.
Discover

We began by immersing ourselves in Zinnov’s consulting ecosystem to understand how their expertise could translate into a digital-first platform.

We conducted collaborative workshops with Zinnov’s clients to identify needs and pain points, and brainstorm platform features that could reduce manual dependency. These ideas were then validated through user interviews with C-suite leaders across varying GCC maturity levels.

Key Takeaways:

  1. Design search as a strategic entry point → results should guide users to the most relevant sections of the platform, solving Level 1 queries without added friction
  2. A dedicated featured media section featuring videos, podcasts, and blogs to boost engagement and support passive content consumption
  3. Create a strategic toolkit that delivers quick insights, benchmarking data, and market overviews—driven by minimal user inputs to reduce effort
  4. Structure content and workflows based on user roles and GCC maturity to ensure relevance and personalized value
  5. Community features to encourage peer learning, discussion, and user-contributed content, while maintaining credibility.
Define

The success of the design invariably resided in the following factors which gave a solid foundational direction to the design process:

  1. Smarter Search

An advanced search bar that helps users find answers fast, positioning Zinnov as the go-to for deep, research-driven insights.
  2. Quick Discovery

Bite-sized flash cards, videos, podcasts, and snapshots make key insights easy to scan and lead users to detailed content.
  3. Pro Tools for Power Users
A tools section offers benchmarking data and strategic insights users can test and apply directly.
  4. Easy Exploration

Past reports are neatly organized by topic and date, helping users explore and revisit content with ease.
  5. Community Connect

Closed groups and live threads let users join ongoing conversations and engage with peers.
  6. Trending Queries

A live feed of top GCC queries and discussion threads that followed, would keeps users in sync with industry buzz.

We designed the platform to simplify access to complex market intelligence through a clean, intuitive interface. Emphasis was placed on presenting insights in bite-sized, easy-to-scan formats and enabling intelligent search that acts as a gateway to deeper content.

Wireframes

usability testing

Home Page

  • Users expect a higher degree of content curation and personalization, based on their job roles and industry.
  • The absence of personalization, impacts data searchability, contributing to search related queries.

Reports

  • UsersUsers want quicker access to relevant insights, AI-generated summaries and improved tagging can reduce effort and improve content discovery.
  • Users aren’t able to gauge the relevance of a report, before reading it. This requires an investment of time and expends cognitive effort for the user. This leads to limited interactions with reports on the platform.

Community

  • Users draw from peer examples to learn in their daily practice, tapping into the ‘social proof’ cognitive bias. Leveraging community based recommendations to guide interactions is an unmet need.
  • Users search for data at a granular level. In the absence of in-group searches, users miss out on specific pieces of content of importance.

Events

  • Event scheduling and planning is one of the users crucial workflows. Users lack personalized triggers and alerts for events impacting their ability to forecast their schedule and organize their operations.
  • Users lack personalized and curated recommendations for events, which impacts User motivation, creating a rise in offline event related queries.

Queries

  • Discoverability of the ‘Ask Zinnov’ feature was limited, and users weren’t able to gauge the complete value of support provided on the platform.
  • Trending topics need stronger visual cues to draw attention and guide user interest.

AI- Powered Search

We designed the homepage to reflect Zinnov’s role as the go-to expert for all things GCC. The experience revolves around users asking a question and instantly receiving tailored insights.
If no direct results are found, users are guided to submit a custom query or connect with an expert. This flow effectively, digitally mirrors Zinnov’s real-world consultancy workflow in an intuitive, interactive way.

Navigation

We used a minimal navigation to guide users to featured media, reports, events, and tools, allowing for a cleaner information architecture and a clutter-free homepage experience.
The right panel features quick actions like top trending queries users want to stay updated on, along with a section for upcoming events they can easily register for.

Featured

The Featured page draws users to Zinnov’s perspective on key trends in the GCC space. “GCC Pulse” curates blogs tailored to user roles and interests, while “GCC Profile of the Month” showcases top-performing GCCs, recognizing their standout contributions.

Reports

The Reports page serves as a comprehensive repository of past research. Users can easily explore and find relevant insights through top-level tabs and nested filters designed for smooth and intuitive navigation.

Tools

The Tools section lets users generate benchmarking and site scorecard results by entering a few key data points. These insights help users understand where their GCC stands within the overall landscape and offer a quick snapshot of its performance.

Trending Queries

The Trending Queries section showcases the most asked questions in a newsletter-style layout, reinforcing Zinnov’s role in actively researching what matters most. Featured queries are highlighted prominently to create a clear sense of hierarchy and focus.

Admin

The admin portal is designed to give Zinnov’s internal Business Development and Customer Support teams a simple, powerful way to manage the platform. It focuses on clarity, ease of use, and efficient workflows, helping non-technical users stay in control. We structured it around four key sections:

  1. Dashboard

Gives a clear overview of how the platform is being used — user activity, content performance, and engagement trends at a glance.
  2. Task Management
Keeps track of all client-related tasks, making it easy to stay on top of onboarding, requests, queries and ongoing actions.
  3. Content Management
Allows the marketing team to update blogs, reports, media, and more, without needing tech support.
  4. Access Control
Makes it easy to manage user roles, permissions, and subscriptions within client organizations.

Conclusion

What did we achieve from the project?

Through a structured and insight-driven design process, we successfully transformed Zinnov’s digital presence into a seamless, user-centric platform that mirrors their consulting expertise.
